Maggie Dyer
Dr Maggie Dyer is a pharmaceutical scientist with more than 25 years of experience in pharmaceutical product development, global outsourced manufacturing operations and quality management. Maggie graduated from Leicester School of Pharmacy with a BSc (Honours) degree in Pharmacy (First Class) and was awarded a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from De Montfort University, Leicester. Since then she has held various leadership / management roles in the pharmaceutical industry of increasing responsibility including Team Leader, Pharmaceutical Formulation at Boots/Knoll Pharmaceuticals (8 years); Section Leader, Formulation at Napp Pharmaceuticals (1 year); Team Leader, Formulation Development and Clinical Trial Supplies at BASF Pharma (2 years); Formulation/GMP Group Head at West Pharmaceutical Services and Archimedes Development (9 years); Director, Manufacturing Operations and QA & Technical Director within Global Supply Chain at Archimedes Pharma (5 years); Director QA at ProStrakan (1 year).
Maggie is experienced in the development and manufacture of a broad range of dosage forms and drug delivery systems including novel controlled release formulations for oral and nasal drug delivery and parenteral products. In her role as Formulation/GMP Group Head, Maggie fulfilled the role of Production Manager for the company’s MHRA Manufacturer’s Authorisation (IMPs) and Manufacturer’s Specials Licences. She has proven expertise in third party operations management and notably acted as project lead for the technology transfer of an innovative potent opioid nasal product from late-stage development and manufacture of clinical trial supplies, through technology transfer to a US CMO, scale-up, process validation and successful product launch in the EU and USA. Maggie has also managed several manufacturing transfers for nasal, parenteral and oral products within the EU.
Maggie has successfully completed an accredited Pharmaceutical Quality Management Systems Auditor/Lead Auditor Training Course and has performed GMP and GDP audits in the UK, EU and India. She has authored or co-authored a number of scientific papers and is an inventor or co-inventor on several granted patents.
